“Freedom for Girls” Charity walk

The “Freedom for Girls” project is a girl child assistance program that provides girls in impoverished villages in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and Eritrea with undergarments, sanitary towels and hygiene education.

The project was launched by Lions International District 411, Rotary International district 9200, and HEART; and now in conjunction with Intuitive Motion aims to address the needs of the girls in the rural areas, as well as those from low income families in urban areas.
“Freedom for Girls” campaign will help us identify and work with vulnerable and impoverished girls. We intend to use participatory communication to educate and empower the girls; provide accurate information and assist in the following areas:
i) Adolescent and reproductive health
ii) Awareness about HIV/AIDS
iii) The importance of girls’ education
iv) Avail a years supply of sanitary towels
v) Hygienic use and disposal of sanitary towels
This initiative will equip the girls with an all round education which will help them serve as role models and agents of change in their local environments. It would also empower them and improve their status in their individual families and communities.
