If you are a registered member of Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) and you are yet to give out your bank details, you risk being left out of the on-going payment of music royalties.

In a statement issued to the press, the organization which is in charge of collecting money from music users across the country says payment through the bank is the safest way of ensuring that the musicians get their pay.

“Because of security reasons, it was resolved that the musicians provide their bank accounts and we are happy a number of them have done so. Their money has safely been wired there. We started paying the Nairobi based musician who did not get their dues two weeks ago,” said MCSK director Maurice Okoth told the us on Thursday.

Okoth who has been out of the country for some time announced that the management has done away with dealing with musicians directly because it is not only insecure but encourages theft.

At the same time, he revealed that private investigators and those from the police have already began their work to find out claims that employees of MCSK are colluding with some artistes to fleece the money meant for genuine members.
